What an experience!!

I DID IT!!
I REALLY DID IT!!

I performed in a college band.
I sat on the stage with brilliant musicians all wanting to do their best and play music that they love.
I wore all black, held my french horn with dignity and presence.

Gosh, I did it!
I was so nervous!  College band is nothing like high school band....
I loved the experience and I pray that I can have it more and more often.

As I walked toward the HFAC, I gripped my handle and just smiled. I might have been so nervous, but the happiness was overpowering. I got to the band room right on time- punctuality is key!

As I opened my case, a little card was sticking in my instrument.  I read it and began to tear up... My roommate, Taylor, had written me a note wishing me good luck and her joy for me for being in the band. Then, she surprised me by actually coming to my concert.  And she got me flowers!!

Aren't they so pretty?!?

Then, I got to meet Cosmo!! (and sneak a kiss :))

I honestly believe that everything happens for a reason.
  • I got accepted into a band (even though I was late).
  • My professors are all so willing to help me with my questions.
  • My roommates are perfect examples to me and help me grow. They love and sacrifice and offer guidance at any time.
  • My mom indirectly reminds me of what I need to focus on and what my priorities should be from hundreds of miles away.
  • My sister and brother-in-law are so quick to help and rescue or even feed me.
  • My brother randomly calls me and wants to hear about my life at BYU.
  • My dad's support can be felt as strong as a bear hug.
I don't think I could have asked for a better experience so far.  I am meant to be here at this time and in this place.  I have a purpose.  I believe we all have a purpose.

If you were curious as to why I have been so happy this week, this should tell you!

  1. You're lucky my husband isn't Cosmo anymore, or we'd have to have a serious discussion! Congratulations on performing with the band! I'm so excited for you and all the experiences you'll be having!
