ye are the Temple of God

In 1 Corinthians 3:16, it reads, "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you?"

Growing up I was told that my body is a temple and I need it treat it as such. What I didn't understand was that it was also talking about my spirit. Everything that encompasses me is sacred and holy. I am a prized possession of God and anything/anybody who defiles the Temple of God will be destroyed.

If we were to treat others and ourselves like the temple of God, how would we act differently?
